PUNE: A man and his daughter were killed on the spot while his wife sustained serious injuries after their vehicle met with a fatal accident on the Pune-Nashik Highway on Friday. The family was travelling to meet relatives for Raksha Bandhan when the accident occurred.
The deceased have been identified as Rajendra Bhor, 42, and his daughter, Mayuri Rajendra Bhor, 14. His wife, Vaishali Rajendra Bhor, 36, is critically injured. According to police, all were originally from Ambegaon taluka and are currently living at Nirgudsar in Ambegaon taluka.
According to police, Vaishali, along with her family, was heading towards Mindewadi in Maval taluka for Raksha Bandhan celebrations when they were near the Kingfa company on their motorcycle, and their motorcycle collided with a truck.
The bodies of the deceased were taken for post-mortem examination as part of the police procedure, said officials.
