Pune: Higher education institutions have been directed to submit details of measures taken to prevent the entry of stray dogs onto campuses and to ensure the safety of students, faculty, and staff by July 10.

The directive comes in the wake of a Supreme Court order issued in November 2025 concerning the impact of stray dog incidents on children in urban areas.
The compliance report, to be submitted online, should include information on measures such as restricting stray dog movement within campus premises, installing fencing or access-control systems, and implementing safety protocols for students, teachers, and employees.
