According to MSEDCL, multiple extra high voltage (EHV) and high voltage lines tripped due to the storm, impacting supply across Pune and nearby areas. Power restoration work is underway on a war footing, and supply has been restored in many affected localities.

Vikas Puri, public rtelation officer (PRO) MSEDCL, Pune Circle, said the hour-long downpour led to trees falling on power lines at several places, while feeder boxes in some areas were submerged, causing outages. Lightning strikes also damaged electrical systems in certain locations.

In Kothrud, lightning affected equipment on the Kundan Nagar feeder, disrupting supply, which was later restored through an alternative arrangement. In Shivajinagar division, areas including University, Khadki, Bavdhan, Baner and Shivaji Housing Society faced outages, with partial restoration achieved.

MSEDCL officials said some low-voltage lines may also have been impacted and urged consumers to remain patient as restoration work continues.

Consumers have been advised to report power-related complaints on toll-free numbers 1912, 18002333435 and 18002123435, or through the official mobile app, which provides 24x7 services.
