Lok Sabha elections 2019: Sant Kabir Nagar constituency in Uttar Pradesh

The Bahujan Samaj Party won the first election in 2009, held for the first time after restructuring. And in the next polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party managed to win.

The Sant Kabir Nagar parliamentary constituency came into existence in 2008 as part of the recommendation of the Delimitation Commission.

Sant Kabir Nagar has five assembly constituencies — Alapur, Menhdawal, Khalilabad, Dhanghata and Khajani. Brahmins and Rajputs hold the key to this constituency but Kurmis also form a sizeable electorate.

Uttar Pradesh, which sends the maximum number of members to Parliament at 80, will go to polls in all the seven phases of the Lok Sabha election 2019. Votes will be counted on May 23.
