Lok Sabha elections 2019: Shirur in Maharashtra has been been with Sena past 15 years

Maharashtra’s 48 constituencies will vote to elect members to the Lok Sabha in four phases on April 11,18, 23 and 29.

Shirur Lok Sabha constituency in Maharashtra is currently held by Shiv Sena’s Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil. He was elected for the third consecutive term in 2014.

Hoping to break the Sena’s hold over the seat, this time the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has fielded Marathi actor Dr Amol Kolhe against him.

Nearly 12,000 people had opted for NOTA in the 2014 general elections.

Maharashtra’s 48 constituencies will vote to elect members to the Lok Sabha in four phases on April 11,18, 23 and 29.

Shirur will vote on April 29.
