South African batsman JP Duminy broke the South African List A record when he clobbered 37 runs in a single over of a Momentum One-Day Cup match against leg-spinner Eddie Leie at Newlands, Cape Town.

The record came in a match between Cape Cobras and VKB Knights which the former won by eight wickets.
Chasing 240 to win, Cobras were comfortably placed at 208/2 at the end of 36th over and the South African all-rounder sensed the opportunity to steal a bonus point.
Batting on 34, Duminy smashed four sixes of the first four balls. The penultimate ball of the over went for only a couple.

However, what should have been the last ball was a No-ball after Leie over stepped and to make matter worse it went for a boundary. The eventual last ball suffered a similar fate as the first four as it fetched six runs to end the match, making it 37 runs off the 37th over.

“It is not every day you get the opportunity, so of course I was trying to go for the six sixes in an over,” JP Duminy said after the match.
