Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has provided details of the incident which resulted in him being trolled online for disrespecting the national flag.

Akshay, who turned up at Lord’s during last Sunday’s ICC Women’s World Cup final between India and England cricket teams, was seen holding the Indian flag upside down during the match. The 49-year-old, who was recently honoured with the National Film Award for Best Actor, was censured on social media for disrespecting the Indian flag.
Akshay had taken to Twitter to apologise for his mistake.

{{/usCountry}}Recently, during a press conference in Mumbai promoting his latest movie, Akshay apologised once again.
“I was unfurling the flag at that time and it was upside down. I was trying to steady it and hold it right but someone from behind clicked the photo,” he was quoted as saying by the Indian Express. “I didn’t even realise. If you watch it on television, you will see I am holding it right. Still, if I have hurt someone’s sentiments, I apologise to them.”
