Ravichandran Ashwin became the fastest Indian bowler to pick 200 Test wickets on Sunday when he dismissed Kane Williamson on the fourth day of the Kanpur Test against New Zealand.

The off-spinner reached the milestone in 37 matches, just one behind Aussie Clarrie Grimmett, who holds the record of taking 200 wickets in 36 Tests.
Ashwin had 193 wickets prior to the Kanpur Test.
Ashwin also surpassed Test greats Dennis Lillee and Waqar Younis, both of whom collected 200 wickets in 38 Tests. Earlier, the fastest Indian in the list was Harbhajan Singh, who completed the feat in 46 Tests. Anil Kumble reached the milestone in 47 Tests. Ashwin was the fastest to 100 wickets as well, achieving the feat in 18 Tests.
