Chasing an improbable target of 434 runs, New Zealand were 93/4 at stumps in their second innings on day four of the first cricket Test against India here on Sunday.

India declared their second innings at 377 for five.

Cheteshwar Pujara top-scored for the hosts with 78 and his 133-run second-wicket partnership with Murali Vijay (76) was the highlight of the innings.

New Zealand need another 341 runs with six wickets remaining.
