Marcus Stoinis, who is resting in Perth, will fly to Brisbane later this week to assess his shoulder injury before a decision is made on his fitness for the Champions Trophy 2017, according to a report in the Herald Sun.

Only four members of the Australian Champions Trophy squad are currently present Down Under for a camp in Brisbane.

Marcus Stoinis, if fit, will fly out with his other three Aussie teammates — Mitch Starc, Josh Hazlewood and wicketkeeper Matt Wade — next week to England where they will meet with the rest of the players coming from the IPL, or playing county cricket.

In case Stoinis is ruled out, then all-rounder James Faulkner could be considered as a replacement.

Steve Smith & Co will play a warm-up game on May 26.
