I can give Rihanna a run for her money: Carlos Brathwaite

A surprise awaited West Indian cricketer Carlos Brathwaite at a Delhi hotel - the staff of Novotel, Aerocity welcomed the cricketer by dancing on his “champions song” as soon as walked into the hotel lobby. Carlos excitedly joined them and showed off his coolest moves.

Carlos Brathwaite, the West Indies cricketer, may have surprised everyone when he smashed those four consecutive sixes at the T20 World Cup final at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, but he was in for a surprise in Delhi recently.

As soon as Carlos entered Novotel Hotel, Aerocity, he was welcomed by the staff who started dancing on his Champions Song. Not one to hold back, Carlos joined in the fun and showed off his coolest moves. His enthusiasm even had the guests present at the hotel dancing with him.

When complimented for his dancing skills, Carlos told us, “If there was ever a dance-off between me and fellow Caribbean Rihanna, I think it would be a really close call. I could give her a run for her money.” The hotel also gifted Carlos customised stationery — a notepad, a key holder and a letter head along with towels with his name on it.

Carlos’ teammate Chris Gayle also uploaded his video on Instagram doing the champions dance and has also nominated Virat Kohil, Amitabh Bacchan and South African Cricket AB de Villiers for doing the champions dance.

Earlier in the day, the Delhi Daredevils team played a one-of-its-kind cricket match at the hotel. Mattresses where laid out in the lobby for the cricketers to dive around and take catches. Among those who were spotted were South African cricketers JP Duminy, Quinton de Kock and Indian cricketers Mohammed Shami and Zaheer Khan.
