The Vizag win was also India’s second biggest over England after the 279-run victory at Leeds in 1986. India’s previous biggest win over England at home was 187 runs at Kolkata in 1961-62. (HIGHLIGHTS)
Following are the statistical highlights of the second Test between India vs England:
** Ravichandran Ashwin became the highest wicket taker in 2016 by bowling out Zafar Ansari in England’s second innings. It was Indian off-spinner’s 55th wicket in 17 innings in nine Test matches. He went past Sri Lankan Rangana Herath who took 54 wickets in 15 innings of eight Test matches this year so far.
** England batted for 97.3 overs in their second innings, which is the fifth highest by any team in the fourth innings of a Test in India since 1990. The best is South Africa’s 143.1 overs in Delhi last year.
** James Anderson became England’s fourth and 25th batsman overall to bag a king pair, out on duck in both innings off the first ball. The last time an England batsman had bagged a king pair in a Test was Ernie Hayes, who suffered that fate against South Africa in Cape Town in 1906.

{{/usCountry}}** England’s 10 batsmen were out lbw in the match. It was England’s highest ever in a Test. There were two previous instances of nine for England - against West Indies at Lord’s in 1984, and against Pakistan at Abu Dhabi in 2012.
** There have been only three instances of more lbws for a team in a Test, 11 by Pakistan against West Indies at Providence in 2010-11 and against England at Dubai in 2011-12, and by New Zealand against Australia at Christchurch in 2004-05.
** It was only second time when 10 batsmen were dismissed leg before in a Test match against India. The only previous instance was by New Zealand at Kanpur in the previous series. India beat New Zealand by 197 runs in that Test match.
** Both teams used the DRS 21 times in this Test match -- 12 times by England and nine by India. On six occasions the on-field umpires’ call was overturned, with each team getting it correct three times. Four of the six overturned calls were for on-field decisions made by Rod Tucker, while Kumar Dharmasena’s on-field calls were overturned twice. In the first Test the DRS came into play only nine times.
