Rajasthan Royals opening batsman Jos Buttler walked his talk of making amends to his poor run as he blazed 50 off 18 balls with the aid of three fours and seven sixes to keep Rajasthan Royals in the hunt of a much-needed win.
Set a revised target of 151 in 12 overs after Delhi Daredevils scored 196/6 in 17.1 overs, Buttler scored the fastest ever fifty scored by a Rajasthan Royals batsman.
He started the siege by taking 10 runs off successive Shahbaz Nadeem deliveries, lofting him for a boundary before sweeping him over deep square leg for a six. But he was most brutal on Avesh Khan, hammering three sixes in three directions.

Replacement bowler Liam Plunkett fared no better as Buttler slogged his compatriot for a six and four before reverse sweeping Amit Mishra for a huge six that brought up his fifty. His partner D’Arcy Short, incidentally, was unbeaten on just eight at the time.
Threatening to take the game way from them, Buttler was finally nipped by Mishra when he induced him into a shot with a googly, resulting into a stumping that saw him depart on 67 off just 26 balls.
