During India’s third ODI against South Africa in Cape Town on Wednesday, all eyes will be on former Indian cricket team captain MS Dhoni, who is on the cusp of a big achievement.
Dhoni, who has so far effected 399 dismissals behind the stumps in 314 ODIs, needs only one more dismissal to take his tally to 400. If he is able to do it on Wednesday, he will become the fourth wicketkeeper in cricket history after Australian Adam Gilchrist, Sri Lankan Kumar Sangakkara and South African Mark Boucher to achieve this feat in 50-over cricket.

Dhoni’s dismissals include 294 catches and 105 stumpings.
Sangakkara leads the list with 482 dismissals from 404 matches. Gilchrist is second on the list with 472 dismissals from 287 games while Boucher is placed third with 424 dismissals from 295 matches.
India lead the six-match series 2-0. While they beat the hosts by six wickets in the first ODI at Durban, the second ODI at Centurion turned out to be a real cakewalk with Kohli and Co romping home with a nine-wicket win. Going into the third match, India are dubbed clear favourites.
