Lahore Qalandars won the toss and inserted Quetta Gladiators in to bat. Sohail Tanvir removed Ahmed Shehzad (5) while Mohammad Irfan got the big wicket of Kevin Pietersen (3). When Asad Shafiq (29) and Pakistan’s new ODI captain Sarfraz Ahmed (1) were snapped up by Sunil Narine, Quetta were reduced to 54/4 in 10 overs.

Rossouw held firm and revived the innings with Thisara Perea (12) but his 45-run stand with Hasan Khan gave a major boost to Quetta as they managed 136/9 after 20 overs. For Lahore, Irfan was the pick of the bowlers with 3/26 while Narine was the most economical with 2/16.

This gave Quetta the momentum as they conceded just 28 runs from the next seven overs as the asking rate mounted. However, Grant Elliott and Sunil Narine struck some lusty blows to salvage the situation and their 40-run partnership had reduced the equation from 20 off 21 balls.

Mohammad Nawaz then bowled Elliott for 26 but Narine hit a six off the final ball of the 17th over to get the equation down to 13 off 18.

However, Tymal Mills changed the course of the match in the 18th over as he removed Sunil Narine for 26. Hasan Khan took the final wicket as Quetta Gladiators completed a stunning turnaround to register an eight-run win and take two points.
