Pakistan Super League (PSL) organisers have assured that the players travelling to Lahore for the franchise-based tournament’s final, next month, in Lahore will be given ‘foolproof security’. Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) executive committee chairman Najam Sethi added that they spending a lot to secure the city.
Earlier, the PCB had confirmed that Lahore will host the final match of the second edition of the PSL on March 7 come what may.
Sethi, the PSL chairman, briefed overseas PSL players in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, a day before the Twenty20 league begins. It should be noted that except the league’s final, all the matches would be played in UAE.
“The government has also made a huge investment in securing the city, and rest assured we will provide foolproof security to the players who will travel for the PSL final,” Sport24 quoted Sethi as saying in a statement.
Sethi further said security consultants would travel to Dubai during the league “to allay the doubts and fears of the players” about security in Lahore.
Former captains Wasim Arkam, Ramiz Raja and Shoaib Malik were also present at the meeting and encouraged foreign players to play the PSL final in Lahore.

{{/usCountry}}“We played a positive role in 1996 that was warmly welcomed in Sri Lanka,” Akram said. “It is imperative that cricket returns to the country, Pakistanis are passionate about the game.”
“My wife, who is an Australian, is staying in Karachi for the last four years and she is having a great time ... the government will do everything possible to ensure the safety of the players,” he added.
