The Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) U-turn on not to issue the No Objection Certificate (NOC) to Yusuf Pathan despite agreeing to do so earlier has not just baffled the former India big-hitter but has also left the Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) stumped.
The BCCI had agreed to issue an NOC to Pathan to play in a T20 tournament in Hong Kong. The BCA too had issued an NOC to Pathan as it did not clash with any of their local tournaments.
However, on Wednesday reports emerged that no NOC will be issued to Pathan. There is no apparent reason the BCCI has provided.
“We don’t know why the BCCI has decided not to issue the NOC now. It is quite surprising. We don’t intend to ask the BCCI about their change in decision,” said a BCA official.
It is learnt that the BCCI had earlier issued an NOC to Pathan to play a tournament in UAE, which included the likes of Shahid Afridi.
