  CBSE 12th History Paper: What PGT History said about paper

  "The Class 12 History question paper was easy. All three sets had equal level of difficulty. MCQs were mostly straightforward. Some questions in the long answer type questions were simple while some required more thinking and deeper knowledge One of the Source based questions was a bit confusing for the students. Map based questions were also very easy to solve."

  CBSE Class 12 History Paper: Exam analysis by Sr. Faculty 

  Shruti Bhasin, Sr. Faculty at Silverline Prestige School, Ghaziabad said, “The question paper was as per CBSE guidelines. Questions had internal choices as per the board pattern. MCQs were not direct but thought-provoking. Map question was easy. Students were satisfied with the paper.”

  CBSE 12th History Exam 2023: Exam analysis by PGT

  “The paper had a reasonable level of difficulty and a mix of moderate and easy questions. The Gandhian era, the 1857 Revolt, the Vijayanagar Empire, the Mauryan period, Buddhism, Jainism, Harappa, and the Constitution were all highlighted in the paper. Questions were designed to assess the student’s practical knowledge and critical thinking abilities. Some students, however, found the paper to be lengthy and time-consuming. The essay-style questions required extensive knowledge and analytical abilities, making them difficult. The paper was manageable for students who were well-prepared and understood the concepts. Overall, the exam provided an accurate assessment of the students' ability to apply their knowledge.”

  CBSE History Paper 2023: Principal's review on paper

  The level of the History paper was well-balanced. The paper gave students a fair chance to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding skills. The exam pattern & difficulty level was similar to that of the CBSE sample paper except the image based question. Students with in-depth textbook knowledge should easily score above 75% to 80%.

  CBSE Class 12 History paper pattern

  As per the SQP, the History paper has 80 marks and is divided into five sections in which there are 34 compulsory questions.

  Section A – question numbers 1 to 21 – MCQs, 1 mark each. 

  Section B: Question numbers 22 to 27: Short answer type questions, 3 marks each. 

  Section C (question no. 28 to 30): Long answer type questions, 8 marks each. Section D – Questions 31 to 33 – 3 sub questions, 4 marks each.

  In Section E (Question no. 34): Map-based question, 5 marks.
