CISCE ICSE, ISC merit list 2019: Lucknow students steal the limelight

Three Lucknow girls brought laurels to the city by sharing the second rank with 13 others in ISC (Class 12) examination, the result of which was declared on Tuesday.

Three Lucknow girls brought laurels to the city by sharing the second rank with 13 others in ISC (Class 12) examination, the result of which was declared on Tuesday. They all missed first rank by just one mark.

The three are Nehal Sharma and Kashish Gupta of La Martiniere Girls’ College (LMGC), Lucknow, and Vedanshi Tewari of City Montessori School (CMS), Mahanagar, Lucknow. They all obtained 399 marks out of 400 with an aggregate of 99.75%.

A boy from Kolkata and a girl from Bengaluru shared the top rank by obtaining 400 out of 400 marks. They are: Dewang Kumar Agarwal of La Martiniere for Boys, Kolkata (science stream) and Vibha Swaminathan of Mallya Aditi International School, Bengaluru (humanities stream).

After dominating the CBSE merit list, students from Uttar Pradesh stole the limelight in the ISC (Class 12) examination too. Out of the 54 students in the ISC merit list, 12 are from UP.

Another 36 students jointly shared the third rank, out of which nine are from UP, by scoring 398 marks with an aggregate of 99.50%. Of them these nine UPites, eight are from Lucknow’s City Montessori School and one from Kanpur.

In ISC 2018 exam too, Lucknow students had dominated the merit list. Out of the 49 students who made it to top three ranks, 18 were from Lucknow.

Lucknow girls shine in ICSE too

Two students jointly share the first rank in ICSE 2019, in which some Lucknow students made it to the merit list. In second rank, there are 10 students, of which two are from Lucknow. They are: Ananya Agarwal of La Martiniere Girls’ College, Lucknow and Radhika Gupta of City Montessori Inter College, Mahanagar, Lucknow. Both scored 497 marks out of 500 with an aggregate of 99.40%.

In third rank, there are 24 students, out of which two are from Lucknow and one from Gorakhpur. They are: Shambhavi Krishna of La Martiniere Girls’ College, Shashwat Verma of CMS, Gomti Nagar Extension and Saksham Singh of Little Flower School, Gorakhpur. All scored 496 out of 500 with an aggregate of 99.20%.
