Even as the merit list for admissions to MBA and MMS courses offered by Maharashtra state business schools was announced a week ago, students continue to wait for the announcement of the date for the Centralised Admission Process (CAP).

The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), the authority that conducts the entrance test and admission process, issued the merit list for the MAH-CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test) for MBA and MMS courses on June 6. Around 57,000 candidates had appeared for the online test, which was held for admissions to around 42,300 seats.

Jaymeen Thakkar, an aspirant, said, “The delay in declaration of dates for CAP rounds has kept aspirants puzzled. The DTE should have declared the dates along with the merit list. It has come up with an entire schedule for undergraduate engineering admissions, for which an entrance test was conducted almost a month after MAH-CET.”

Thakkar said, “As there is no clarity about the dates for CAP rounds, many students have begun to enroll for PG Diploma in Management (PGDM) courses. While PGDM courses will commence from the third week of this month, students will not receive a complete refund of fees and may lose around Rs30,000. The DTE should give relief to these students regarding the rules for refund of fees.”
