Anu Kumari and Sachin Gupta clinched the second and third spot respectively. Kumari, the topper among female candidates, graduated with BSc (Hons) in Physics from the Delhi University and has done an MBA (Finance and Marketing) from IMT, Nagpur.

The results of the UPSC civils main exam conducted on October 28, 2017 are available at upsconline.nic.in. As many as 990 names were recommended for being appointed to the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’. This is based on the results of the UPSC written exam held in October-November, 2017 and the personality test interviews held in February-April, 2018.

Out of 980 posts, 54 posts are for reserved categories. The IAS PRE (CSAT) Exam was held on 18 June 2017.

The civil services examination is conducted by the UPSC annually in three stages - preliminary, main and interview - to select officers for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) among others.
