All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's Arjunan @ Amman Arjunan K. grabbed a total of 59,788 votes, while Indian National Congress's Mayura Jayakumar S. got 42,369 votes. Bharatiya Janta Party's candidate Vanathi Srinivasan bagged 33,113 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 39.8%, 28.2% and 22.0% respectively.
In Tamil Nadu Assembly election 2011, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's Doraiswamy R Alias Challenger Dorai beat Dravida Munetra Kazhagam's Pongalur Palanisamy N by 27,796 votes.
