The top two candidates split 83.7% of votes between them. All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's Chitra.G got a total of 1,00,562 votes, while Dravida Munetra Kazhagam's Tamilselvan.C secured 83,168 votes. Pattali Makkal Katchi's candidate Selvam.R secured 17,998 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 45.8%, 37.9% and 8.2% respectively.
In Tamil Nadu Assembly election 2011, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's Perumal.C defeated Dravida Munetra Kazhagam's Tamilselvan.C. by 37,582 votes.
