A stable government that works continuously for progress of the country and the state is needed, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi while interacting with intellectuals in Kashi on Saturday.

He said it was Kashi that gave the word ‘guru’ to the country and the world. “I have come to bow before all of you. It is my pleasure to meet you. All of you know the pulse of Kashi’s power and public opinion. Kashi itself is a storehouse of energy,” the PM told the intellectuals.
He said, “Kashi ke logon ne mujhe apna bana liya hai (people of Kashi have made me their own). I have an ‘atmiya’ (emotional) attachment to all of you. Change in Kashi has come from the people, not through money. What is happening is happening for the culture and heritage of this place. All of you supported me wholeheartedly.”
He said the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor was not built from the point of view of election. “This is the right of Kashi. This work should have been done long ago. Whatever has happened in Kashi, happened with the people’s co-operation.”
