Maintaining his supremacy in his traditional Kunda seat of Pratapgarh district, Raghuraj Pratap Singh defeated his nearest Samajwadi Party (SP) rival Gulshan Yadav by a margin of over 28,000 votes. With this, Singh registered his seventh successive victory from the seat since 1993. This time he had entered the electoral fray under the banner of his own party Jantsatta Dal (Loktantrik) which he had floated in 2018.

Similarly, Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate Abhay Singh was elected from Goshaiganj assembly seat of Ayodhya district. He defeated his nearest Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rival Aarti Tiwari by a margin of over 7,000 votes. Singh had won the same seat in 2012 assembly polls too but had lost it to Aarti Tiwari’s husband Indra Pratap Tiwari aka Khabbu Tiwari in 2017 polls.
