Just as he was on the cusp of making his debut in the Durand Cup, actor Tiger Shroff had to skip his team Mumbay FC's Durand Cup 2026 Group E clash against Nongkseh SS&CC in Shillong on Tuesday. Tiger pulled out at the last minute due to work commitments, the actor informed hours before the game.
Tiger Shroff misses Durand Cup game
Tiger had registered with the squad last month and was expected to play for the team in the game on Tuesday, their final league stage game in this year's Durand Cup. However, the 36-year-old actor confirmed in a video posted on X that he would not be travelling to Shillong for their clash at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
In the video, wearing the team's jersey, Tiger said, “Really, really unfortunate, but a work commitment has come up at the last moment, so I would not be able to make it to Shillong for the Durand Cup. I was really looking forward to playing for my team Mumbay FC, but unfortunately, I would not be able to make it. All the very best to everybody out there. The tournament has been amazing. All the very best Mumbay FC. Kill it, boys!”

But the show must go on, and Indian football’s next generation is here to make their mark.
