Priyanka Chopra, who celebrates her 39th birthday on Sunday, has been married to Nick Jonas for two-and-a-half years. The actor and the singer tied the knot in December 2018 in India. While she has often spoken about her bond with the Jonas Brothers member, Priyanka had once opened up about how similar Nick is to her late father, Ashok Chopra.
The Citadel star lost her father, Dr Ashok Chopra in June 2013 after he died of cancer. Priyanka Chopra was extremely close to her father. During an interview in 2019, Priyanka had said that Nick Jonas was a 'chhavi' (an image) of her father.
"The more I get to know him, yes. I feel I have married someone who is my dad’s chhavi. Not just the music, they are both very stable, solid, rooted and dependable," she had said, speaking with Mumbai Mirror. "(Nick) is the most considerate man I’ve ever met. In everything he does, Nick puts me first. It’s wonderful to wake up every day and know that there is this person who thinks about you even before you think about yourself. That’s eventually what you want, someone who loves you like a hug," she had added.
Nick too has always praised Priyanka. Earlier this year, during his podcast called Time to Walk for Apple's Fitness + platform, Nick had said that Priyanka has taught him to about taking things easy. "Sometimes you have to slow down to kick it into high gear again. And, you know, she's taught me a lot about going with the flow and taking it easy, something I'm still wrestling with every day. But it's definitely a better way to live life. Of all the lessons I've learned so far, I think that's the most important, is just to take some time out whether it's a walk or a movie, whatever it is for you. Just take a step back for a minute," he had said.

She stars alongside Game of Thrones star Richard Madden in the show. Priyanka took two trips to the US in between her shooting schedules. She once attended the Billboard Music Awards 2021 with Nick in Los Angeles in the summer, and then returned to the US to visit her recently-opened restaurant Sona.
