Bring up the rumours of him dating a mystery girl in Delhi, and he says, “It’s all rubbish. I don’t have anyone in my life. I am completely single.” The Players star reveals that he had begun a relationship with a girl, but it didn’t work out. “There was a phase in my life where I was with someone who was pretending to love me. I don’t need that anymore,” Neil recalls.

Ask if he is considering dating someone from the film industry, and he says, “It doesn’t matter if she is from the industry or not, as long as our love is true.”

Neil, who is currently shooting for his next film Shortcut Romeo, turns 30 today. The birthday boy is looking forward to quality time with his parents and a close-knit group of school friends. “I am spending time with my father and mother, and will call some old school friends home for dinner. I want to celebrate my birthday with people who really matter to me,” says Neil, adding, “My parents have bought me a gift, though I don’t know what it is.”
