Actor Deepika Padukone says if she wouldn’t have made it big in Bollywood, she had an alternate career in mind for herself. “I kept telling my mother if I didn’t become an actor, I’d want to be an interior designer,” says the 26-year-old.
The actor, who’s currently taking a keen interest in doing up her new house, says, “Earlier, I used to go to a department store and ignore everything but fashion, but now I’m constantly looking around to buy things for the home.”
Vinita Chaitanya, Deepika’s interior designer, describes the actor’s house as “Deepika in a sari. Modern yet traditional”.
The actor, who shifted to her new house late last year, was in the city on Friday for the launch of the magazine, Architectural Digest India. She is also the cover girl for their inaugural issue.
