Neymar completed his world-record €222million move from FC Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain and the football world reacted with congratulatory messages and more on social media

It is the jaw-dropping deal that has stunned world football after Neymar left FC Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain.

Neymar, who joined Barcelona in 2012, had a succesful stint with the Catalan giants forging a great partnership up front with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. At Paris Saint-Germain, he would become the club’s biggest star and the Brazilian would be hoping to seal his credentials with a UEFA Champions League title with the French club. (AP)

PSG met Neymar’s €222million release clause to lure the 25-year-old Brazil international to the French capital in a world-record transfer.

On Thursday, Neymar signed a five-year deal reportedly worth €30m annually.

Neymar – set to wear the number 10 shirt for PSG – will be presented in Paris on Friday.

Gary Lineker, however, questioned the implications of Financial Fair Play regulations in Neymar’s big transfer.
