The residents on Golf Course Road and its extension are delighted with the opening of the 1.2 km underpass between DLF Phase 1 and Global Foyer Mall on Sunday, as it will enable them to avoid merging with traffic headed towards DLF Phase 1 and DLF Phase 4 and escape snarls.

They were able to zip through the stretch in less than five minutes, as opposed to 10-15 minutes that they took earlier to cover the stretch during peak commuting hours.

For residents, the new underpass and the recently opened Sikanderpur underpass, is expected to reduce their travel time to office with uniformity in traffic flow and reduced traffic congestion.

“The underpasses have brought us huge relief. It has cut my travel time to New Delhi by more than 15 minutes. The only remaining project is the Genpact underpass, which will make driving on the Golf Course Road effortless,” Kunal Sinha, a resident of Vaastu apartment in Sector 55, said.

The new six-lane underpass is mainly going to benefit commuters travelling towards or from Golf Course Extension Road and those living in gated condominiums in the DLF Phase 5 area.
