Actor Eddie Murphy has put the brakes on another Beverly Hills Cop movie because the scripts he has been offered have not been great.
The 55-year-old movie star burst onto the scene as smart-talking police officer Axel Foley in the blockbuster 1984 film, and reprised the role for sequels in 1987 and 1994.
A TV movie surrounding Foley’s son hit the small screen in 2013 and that sparked chatter about a fourth Beverly Hills Cop film, which would bring Murphy back as Axel.
But the Shrek star insists talk has stalled because there’s not a good enough script on the table, reported Extra.
“You know they’ve been trying for years to get a Beverly Hills Cop together and haven’t been able to get that right one. I don’t want to do it unless its right,” he said.
