Flatliners, the sci-fi remake of a 1990 cult film, opened with a deafening thud over the weekend. The film bombed at the box office, making less than $10 million. But more notably, until late Sunday, the film stood at 0% on the review aggregator site, Rotten Tomatoes.

Flatliners’ ensemble cast includes several well-known young stars: Oscar-winner Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Kiersey Clemons, James Norton and Nina Dobrev.

Since then, a single positive review has nudged the score to 3%, but it is enough to make Flatliners one of the worst reviewed films of the year - and certainly the one with the most recognisable faces involved.

The ensemble cast includes several well-known young stars: Oscar-winner Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Kiersey Clemons, James Norton and Nina Dobrev. It is directed - on a relatively hefty budget of $30 million - by Neils Arden Oplev, who directed the original Swedish Girl With the Dragon Tattoo movie in 2009.

The original Flatliners was a moderate hit at the box office, and starred up-and-comers like Kiefer Sutherland (who also appears in the remake), Julia Roberts and Kevin Bacon.
