The movie stars Chris Pine in the titular role and Knightley is currently in talks to tackle the leading lady, reported Aceshowbiz.

The actress has beaten a number of Hollywood beauties like Evangeline Lilly and Felicity Jones to take on the part.

This is the first time Knightley will be collaborating with Branagh, who also takes a supporting role in the untitled project.

Serving as a prequel to Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan novel series, the forthcoming film follows Pine's titular character who is a Moscow-based financial analyst.
