Dr Rola Hallam, Medical Director, Hand In Hand For Syria

Dr Rola Hallam is a speaker at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2017.

Dr Rola Hallam is a consultant anaesthetist. Her passion for global health took her across sub-Saharan Africa until war started in her home country, Syria. As medical director of Hand-in-Hand-for-Syria, she played an integral part in building hospitals and health centres across Syria. Rola lectures at the London School of Economics and King’s College London and is an international speaker and human-rights advocate, pressing decision-makers to stop the targeting of civilians in war zones, and to protect medical neutrality. Her on-going quest to provide access to healthcare for all has led her to launch CanDo, a not-for-profit social enterprise enabling local humanitarians to provide healthcare services to their war-devastated communities.
