Two firefighters were killed while three others were injured after a wall and an iron beam collapsed on them during firefighting at an electronic factory in Greater Noida’s Ecotech 3 on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.

Police said the two were part of a fire department team rushed to extinguish the fire at the factory. “During the firefighting work, a wall and the iron beam collapsed on the outer part of the building, injuring five firemen,” said deputy police commissioner (Central Noida) Shailendra Singh.
Constables Rajpal Singh and Teerath Pal Singh, and firemen Manish Kumar, Amit Kumar, and Rohit Yadav, were injured when the wall and beam collapsed on a fire engine, leaving it damaged.
The injured firefighters were rushed to a hospital, where Rohit Yadav and constable Teerath Pal Singh were declared dead. The other three are undergoing treatment and are out of danger.
Officials said the cause of the fire at the factory has not yet been ascertained. An investigation is underway to determine the exact reason behind the blaze. “The company suffered extensive damage due to the fire, and further investigation is underway,” said a second police officer.
