Seven people were killed in an explosion that took place at a factory in Ghaziabad’s Modi Nagar.

“Seven persons, including women, have died and three persons were severely injured in a fire incident. According to locals, around 20-25 persons were making party poopers in the factory when the fire broke out. We are trying to find the owner of the factory, and identification process of the dead is underway,” said Neeraj Kumar Jadaun, superintendent of police (rural).
“There were no safety measures in place at the factory and it didn’t have a license to operate,” said Bhupender Kumar, a villager.
“The factory was running illegally. There was a raid at the factory some time ago, but it continued operations. All this was in the knowledge of local cops,” he added.
