As India flaunted its military might and cultural diversity during the Republic Day parade on Friday on New Delhi’s Rajpath, a team of Border Security Forces’ (BSF) women personnel offered a spectacular display of their power by performing daredevil stunts on motorcycles.
The 113-member squad Seema Bhavani was chosen from different ranks of the border force to become the first-ever women bikers’ contingent at the 69th Republic Day parade.
The contingent, led by sub-inspector Stanzin Noryang received a rapturous applause from the crowd as they pulled off stunning formations such as fish riding, side riding, faulaad, peacock and saptarishi.
Most of the women did not even know how to ride a bike before being selected for the squad.

{{/usCountry}}“I never thought of riding a bike because of fear. Now, I am confident of doing any stunt on a Royal Enfield Bullet,” 28-year-old Noryang, who hails from Jammu and Kashmir’s Ladakh, was quoted as saying by IANS.
As per the tradition, the BSF and the Indian Army’s bike-borne daredevils end the ceremony riding their roaring bikes alternatively every year. And, this time the BSF sent in their women contingent.
