A passenger travelling on IndiGo flight 6E 6571 from Delhi to Kolkata on September 1 was handed over to security for allegedly misbehaving with the cabin crew and disturbing co-passengers, the airline said in a statement on Wednesday.
The flyer, who was reportedly under the influence of alcohol, was declared “unruly” in line with aviation protocols. He was handed over to security officials after the flight landed in Kolkata, IndiGo said.
“We are aware of an incident of unruly behaviour onboard IndiGo flight 6E 6571 operating from Delhi to Kolkata on 01 September 2025. One of the customers onboard, under the influence of alcohol, was found to be misbehaving with the cabin crew and disturbing fellow passengers. In line with established protocols, the said customer was declared unruly and was handed over to security upon arrival. A formal complaint was also lodged with the relevant authorities," an IndiGo spokesperson said.
IndiGo said it maintains a “zero-tolerance policy towards any form of disruptive or abusive conduct and remains committed to ensuring a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all customers and crew”.
The passenger, however, has denied the allegations and filed a counter-complaint.

{{/usCountry}}According to a report, a fight broke out between the crew members and the passenger of the Delhi-Kolkata IndiGo flight, and both sides lodged complaints against each other for chanting a religious slogan, consuming alcohol on board, and instigating flyers.
The Times of India reported that the flight was stranded at the parking bay in New Delhi during a three-hour delay due to operational reasons.
The crew alleged that the passenger, who is a lawyer, created a disturbance, while the passenger alleged harassment and denial of basic services by the airline staff, the report said.
According to the complaint, the passenger seated in 31D boarded the aircraft in an intoxicated state and began asking co-travellers to chant “Har Har Mahadev". After take-off, he allegedly attempted to conceal a soft drink bottle and was found smelling of alcohol. When questioned by the cabin crew, he reportedly consumed the drink in haste. The flyer was handed over to security personnel on arrival in Kolkata.
The passenger claimed that he had greeted the crew with “Har Har Mahadev” without any religious intent and insisted that he had not consumed alcohol during the flight. He added that he had a beer at Delhi airport before boarding and had the purchase receipt to prove it.
