The India Meteorological Department said the minimum temperature was expected to remain between 9 °C and 11 °C over the next few days.
The 24-hour rolling average AQI was 369 (very poor) at 10am and approaching the “severe” category. This was marginally lower than the 24-hour average AQI of 391 on Thursday evening.
Officials said a rise in wind speed overnight to around 12 km per hour led to a slight reduction in pollutant concentration even as curbs under Stage 3 of the Graded Response Action Plan (Grap) continued. Non-essential construction, demolitions, and certain vehicular categories remain restricted under Grap Stage 3. People have been advised to reduce outdoor activity, especially in the early morning and late evening hours.
