If Congress comes to power in MP, farm loans will be waived in 10 days: Rahul

Congress President Rahul Gandhi announced that the farmers’ loan would be waived within 10 days if his party comes to power in Madhya Pradesh.

He was addressing a rally at Pipliya Mandi in Mandsaur district to commemorate the first anniversary of police firing on farmers during an agitation in which six farmers were killed.

“Here Kamal Nath (MP Congress President) and Jyotiraditya Scindia (the State poll campaign committee chairman) are sitting. I want to assure you that within 10-days of coming to power in Madhya Pradesh, the government will waive (farmers’) loan,” Gandhi said.

The Congress president also promised action against those responsible for the police firing on farmers last year.

“We want farmers to get the respect they deserve.I will not say that I will give you Rs 15 lakh. But I will do what I say. I will not tell you my ‘mann ki baat’ but I will listen to yours,” Gandhi said.

Targeting Prime MInister Modi, the Congress president said, “The truth is PM Modi and BJP are not concerned about farmers. Helping their rich businessmen friends is their only priority.”
