Karnataka by-election results highlights: Chief Minister Kumaraswamy says, Goal is to win all 28 Lok Sabha seats

The results for the three Lok Sabha and two assembly constituencies in Karnataka, which went to bye-elections on Saturday, were declared on Tuesday. The Congress-JD(S) emerged as the biggest winners with the parties bagging 2 seats each, even as the BJP managed to win just 1 seat - Shivamogga -out of the five seats - two assembly and three parliamentary. Former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa’s son B Y Raghavendra won the Shivamogga Lok Sabha bypoll by 52,148 votes.Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s wife Anitha won Ramanagaram assembly seat, Congress’s Anand Nyamagouda bagged Jamkhandi, Congress’ VS Ugrappa won Ballari Lok Sabha seat and JD(S)’ LR Shivaramegowda won Mandya parliamentary seat.An estimated 67 per cent voter turnout was recorded in the bypolls for five constituencies.A total of 31 candidates were in the fray from all the five constituencies, though the contest was mainly between the Congress-JD(S) combine and the BJP.Here are the live updates:
