Highlights: Madhya Pradesh reports 1,640 new Covid-19 cases, 68 fatalities

  • India recorded 1,73,790 new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday,, the lowest daily increase in the last 45 days. The Centre said on Thursday that the second wave of Covid-19 appears to be on a "downswing" all over the country.

India recorded 1,73,790 new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday, the lowest daily increase in the last 45 days. Saturday also marked the sixteenth consecutive day of daily recoveries outnumbering daily increase in cases, after 2,51,78,011 individuals made a full recovery in the last 24 hours. The health ministry said weekly positivity rate is showing signs of continued decline, and is currently at 9.84%.
