Among the districts, Mewat leads the chart with 14 schools in the district without toilet facility for girls, while Panipat comes second with 10 schools in the district without girls’ toilet. The data further reveals that in over 22,000 schools in the state, 2,546 toilets built for girls are not in a working condition. Besides 7,000 girl students, the problem is also for over 250 female teachers who teach at these schools.

Besides, at over 4,500 schools in the state where there is a toilet facility for students, there is no hand-washing facility available near the toilets.

Although the state has significantly improved by coming down to 85 schools without girls’ toilets from last year’s 419, it has a long way ahead considering the large strength of girl students still forced to attend schools without the basic facility.
