Public sector oil marketing company, the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), has stopped supplying fuel to the petrol pump of RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s son and Bihar health minister Tej Pratap Yadav, located in Anisabad locality in south-western part of the state capital..
A BPCL officer in Patna said the supply was stopped to Lara Automobiles on Thursday after a Patna court vacated the interim stay on execution of the oil marketing company’s order terminating the petrol pump licence on the charge that Yadav had acquired the land for the pump “illegally”.
The officer, who did not wished to be quoted, said the oil firm’s Patna office was in the process of obtaining the “required approval for the next appropriate action” in the matter from its headquarters. The process was likely to take between 24 to 48 hours, he said.
“We are also exploring alternative measures to continue the services of the petrol station, given its strategic location and not to cause any inconvenience to the public,” he said, adding, everything would be done in accordance with the set norms.

The BPCL had, on May 3, issued a notice to Yadav, after receiving a complaint that Yadav had acquired the petrol pump on Patna’s busy Anisabad bypass road by furnishing “wrong information”. It terminated the allocation after Yadav failed to furnish a satisfactory explanation in response to its notice .
Yadav had applied for the petrol pump licence in 2012 and the retail outlet was commissioned to Lara Automobiles, represented by him as its proprietor, on February 27 this year.
Senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi had earlier alleged that the petrol pump licence was fraudulently obtained by Yadav during the UPA II regime at the Centre (2009-14). Modi had claimed that Yadav did not have the stipulated 43 decimal of land required for setting up the petrol pump at the time of applying for it.
