The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) had closed the Connecting Link section of the Pune-Mumbai Expressway for maintenance and repair work and a mock drill from 12 noon to 3 pm on Wednesday.

The MSRDC had issued an advisory on Tuesday stating that the Connecting Link from Pune to Mumbai would remain temporarily closed, during which vehicles travelling towards Mumbai would be diverted through the ghat section of the old Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Motorists using the route during this period were advised to follow traffic signs and directions issued by the authorities.
The Connecting Link carriageway carrying traffic from Mumbai towards Pune remained operational, the MSRDC said.
The traffic diversion was to facilitate maintenance and repair activities, as well as a mock drill, on the Connecting Link. The authorities had appealed to motorists to cooperate with the temporary traffic arrangements and plan their journey accordingly to avoid delays.
Motorists requiring assistance can contact the Mumbai-Pune Expressway control room at 98224 98224 or the Highway Police at 98334 98334.
