A 59-year-old woman was allegedly shot dead by her neighbour in Rajasthan’s Deeg district on Sunday while returning home with green fodder from a nearby agricultural field, police said.

The neighbour had allegedly threatened the family following a dispute over loitering outside the victim’s house in village Mawai. He allegedly shot her dead while she was returning from the farmland.
The family took her to Deeg Sub-District Hospital, where doctors referred her to Bharatpur District Hospital, where she was declared dead.
A case was registered at Januthar police station.
Deceased’s husband, Jeet Singh, said that Kanha Singh and his colleagues came to their house and stood there every day. “My wife refused to let them stand at the entrance of the house and complained to his family members. He threatened to kill us and shot my wife dead on the way when she was carrying fodder from the farmland,” Singh said.
Januthar police station in-charge Ram Bharosi said that a woman was shot dead and that police had registered a case and started an investigation.
