Sonia Gandhi admitted to Delhi hospital with upset stomach

The Congress president has been in and out of hospital since she collapsed during a rally in Varanasi last August because of massive electrolyte imbalance and fractured her left shoulder.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi was admitted to the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital with an upset stomach on Friday evening.

“Mrs Sonia Gandhi was brought to the hospital at 5 pm. She was suffering from an upset stomach,” said Dr DS Rana, chairman (board of management) of the hospital.

The 71-year-old political leader will be kept under observation overnight, he added.

Gandhi, who also suffers from chronic asthma, has been under the care of Ganga Ram Hospital consultant pulmonologist Dr Arup Basu.

The Congress president has been shuttling in and out of the hospital ever since she collapsed due to massive electrolyte imbalance at a rally in Varanasi , fracturing her left shoulder, last August.

Her daughter, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, was also admitted to the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in August this year. She had come down with dengue.
