Three Manipur militants arrested; over 2300 rounds of ammunition seized

The police arrested an extortionist belonging to the PREPAK from Thongkhong Laxmi Bazaar in Imphal West district on Wednesday.

Security forces arrested three militants belonging to different proscribed outfits for their alleged involvement in extortion in two districts of Manipur, police said on Thursday.

Over 2300 rounds of ammunition were also recovered in separate operations from three valley districts of the state.

The police arrested an extortionist belonging to the PREPAK from Thongkhong Laxmi Bazaar in Imphal West district on Wednesday.

One cadre of the People's Liberation Army was apprehended on Tuesday from Khabeisoi area in Imphal East district.

Another active cadre of the Kangleipak Communist Party (MFL) was apprehended on the same day from Kongpal Kongkham Leikai in Imphal East district.

Security forces during an operation on Wednesday recovered a cache of explosives and ammunition from Heirok Part-II, Khangabok Mahadeva Ching area in Thoubal district.
