In the backdrop of three bomb blasts by insurgent group ULFA in Guwahati on Thursday, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram was briefed here by Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on the law and order situation in the state.

Senior officials of the Home Ministry, state government and IB officials looking after the North East also attended the meeting held at the Raj Bhawan.
Prior to the meeting, Gogoi visited the blast sites as also the injured who are undergoing treatment in hospitals.
The blasts took place shortly before the arrival of Chidambaram.
